"Three Pitching Drills to practice with your staff"

Here are a few examples of Pitching Practice Drills:

1) One leg balance point - Designed on gaining balance at the balance point, Stress the importance of not going forward with your balance until you reach the peak of your balance point, also called "the gathering".

2) Stride drill - Stand on a line and out of the balance point. Attempt to land in a good athletic position with the core in the middle of both feet and weight being distributed 50/50. This is done while making sure to stay on a stride line with the lead foot. Emphasize the importance of properly leading to your target linearly without getting rotational.

3) Bucket drill - Start with the back leg rotated on a bucket. Balance on your lead foot with the main focus of the drill being that the back shoe laces are on the bucket. Out of your upper body "t" position, throw the ball over top of the shoulders. The goal is that the arm finishes on the opposite side of the lead foot from where it started. This all should be done while not knocking the bucket down or pulling your foot off.
